Red Moon is getting to know Roanoke, VA very well these past few months with many Recycle and Win events in the county and weekly patrolling to search for winners. With success in Nashville, TN and Charleston, WV; Coca-Cola and Kroger Grocery Store partnered once again to expand to Virginia, focusing solely in Roanoke County. Moonies spent the afternoon of Saturday, January 7th helping people unload their recycling, inviting recyclers’ to tour Coca-Cola’s refreshment vehicle and giving each guest the chance to win a $50.00 Kroger gift card.
Red Moon’s Pat Rineman worked the event and has plenty of experience teaching residents on the proper way to recycle, “The most common question we get is, ‘can we recycle glass?’ and ‘am I able to recycle my old pizza boxes?’ It’s really beneficial that our team can be there to assist with questions so that next time prize patrol is out, everyone has a fair chance to win,” Rineman said. In Roanoke County, glass is not an acceptable item at the county drop off locations. As for the pizza boxes, due to the food residue left behind, they are also NOT recyclable. Red Moon has learned recycling rules for multiple cities, towns and counties and continues to expand their knowledge with each new R&W program.
The program will last until the end of April, with another recycling event on January 28th at Hidden Valley High School. Come out, bring your recycling and hang with the Moonies, you might just win a $50.00 gift card!
