Official Rules
- NO PURCHASE OR PAYMENT NECESSARY TO ENTER OR TO WIN. A PURCHASE WILL NOT INCREASE YOUR CHANCES OF WINNING. VOID WHERE PROHIBITED OR RESTRICTED BY LAW. CO-SPONSORS: SunCom Wireless Operating Company, L.L.C., d/b/a SunCom Wireless, 1100 Cassatt Road, Berwyn, PA 19312 and the Charlotte Checkers Hockey Club, 212 South Tryon Street, Suite 575, Charlotte, North Carolina 28281.
- ENTRY: Sweepstakes begins on October 18, 2007 at 12:01 a.m. ET and ends on February 26, 2008, at 11:59:59 p.m. ET (the “Entry Period”) Enter one of four ways: at the arena, at any SunCom Wireless retail store in Charlotte, North Carolina, by mail, or on the Internet.
- To enter at the arena, go to the Information Igloo, fill out official entry form completely and follow directions to enter.
- To enter at a SunCom Wireless retail store, visit any Charlotte SunCom Wireless retail store, complete the official entry form and follow directions to enter.
- To enter by mail, fill out official entry form completely and submit to SunCom’s “Win The Jerseys Off Their Backs” Sweepstakes, 5925 Carnegie Blvd., Suite 200, Charlotte, NC 28209. All mail–in entries must be postmarked no later than February 26, 2008 and received by March 4, 2008. Each mailed entry must be mailed separately
- To enter over the Internet, go to www.gocheckers.com and follow directions to enter.
- ELIGIBILITY: Open only to legal residents of North Carolina or South Carolina who are 18 years of age or older at time of entry. Employees of Co-Sponsors, their respective parents, affiliates, shareholders, agents, prints, advertising and promotional agencies, and their immediate families and persons residing in the same household of such employees are not eligible to enter this Sweepstakes.
- PRIZES/ODDS: Co-Sponsors will award eight (8) Grand Prizes. Grand Prize is two (2) Attack Zone tickets to the Charlotte Checkers game at which prize will be awarded, and one (1) Charlotte Checker’s logoed jersey worn by a Charlotte Checker’s player at the game at which the jersey is awarded. (Approx. Retail Value: $222). Player will be selected by Co-Sponsors in their discretion, but entrant’s preferences will be considered. Odds of winning depend on the number of eligible entries received between: (a) 10/18/07 and 12/16/07, for the first drawing, and (b) between 12/17/07 and 2/26/08, for the second drawing. All taxes or expenses, including, without limitation, sales tax, luxury tax, federal, state, and local taxes, and any other costs incurred in claiming or using the prizes are the sole responsibility of the winners. No prize substitutions or cash equivalent of prize is permitted except at Co-Sponsors’ sole discretion, and then only for a prize of equal or greater value. Prizes are nontransferable.
- DRAWING: Co-Sponsors will select four (4) winners in each of two (2) random drawings on or about December 16, 2007 and March 11, 2008 in Charlotte, North Carolina. Four (4) winners will be chosen in the December drawing from among all eligible entries submitted up until the time of the drawing, and their prizes will be awarded at the Charlotte Checkers game on December 29, 2007. Four (4) winners will be chosen in the March drawing from all eligible entries submitted after the previous drawing and their prizes will be awarded at the Charlotte Checkers game on March 21,2008. Co-Sponsors will notify entrants in advance that they are potential winners and entrants must be present at the December or March games, as the case may be, in order to win. Prizes will be awarded at the game. If entrant does not attend the game at which the prize is to be awarded, the prize will be forfeited and an alternate winner will be selected. Limit one (1) prize per household or address. Entrants agree to be bound by these Official Rules and the decisions of the judges, whose decision is final, binding, and irrevocable in all matters relating to the promotion. Winners will be notified by phone and/or mail. In the event of noncompliance with these requirements, the prize will be forfeited and an alternate winner will be selected. If prize notification is returned as undeliverable, the prize will be forfeited and an alternate winner will be selected. All claimed prizes will be awarded.
- GENERAL: Sweepstakes is subject to applicable federal, state and local laws and regulations. By participating, entrants release Co-Sponsors, their parents, subsidiaries, agencies, affiliates, and the directors, officers, employees, or agencies of any of the above organizations from any and all liability for any injuries, claims, losses, tax liabilities or damages of any kind arising in connection with an entrant’s participation in this Sweepstakes or resulting from the receipt, possession, ownership, use or misuse of the prize or while preparing for, participating in, and/or traveling to any prize-related activity. Entries not satisfying these Official Rules will be automatically disqualified. Co-Sponsors reserve the right to: (i) disqualify from this or any Sweepstakes they sponsor, now or in the future, any person they find, in their sole discretion, has intentionally violated these official rules, tampered with the entry process, the operation of the Sweepstakes, or any other aspect of this Sweepstakes; (ii) modify, suspend or terminate the Sweepstakes in the event it becomes technically impaired; and (iii) cancel or suspend the Sweepstakes in its entirety if tampering, unauthorized intervention, fraud, technical failures or other causes beyond Co-Sponsors’ control corrupt the administration, security, fairness, integrity or proper play of the Sweepstakes. In such an event, Co-Sponsors will select winners in a random drawing from all eligible entries received prior to the date of cancellation or suspension. Prior to exercising their rights to suspend or cancel the Sweepstakes, Co-Sponsors will post notification of cancellation of the Sweepstakes at www.gocheckers.com. By acceptance of prize, winner consents that Co-Sponsors may use his/her name, likeness and/or prize information for purposes of advertising, trade, or promotion without further compensation, unless prohibited by law.
- WINNERS LIST: Winners will be posted at www.gocheckers.com between December 30, 2007 and July 1, 2008. Alternatively, to obtain a list of winners, send a self-addressed, stamped envelope by October 1, 2008 to SunCom’s “Win The Jerseys Off Their Backs” Sweepstakes, 5925 Carnegie Blvd., Suite 200, Charlotte, NC 28209, ATTN: A. Larmore.
Limit one entry (regardless of method) per person, per day. In the event of a dispute over the identity of an online entrant, the entrant will be the Authorized Account Holder of the e-mail address. “Authorized Account Holder” means the natural person who is assigned to an e-mail address by an Internet access provider, online service provider, or other organization that is responsible for assigning e-mail addresses for the domain associated with the submitted e-mail address. No mechanical reproductions, photocopies, or metered mail will be accepted. No automatic, programmed, robotic or similar means of entry are permitted. Neither Co-Sponsor nor any of their respective employees, representatives or agencies, is responsible for (1) lost, late, damaged, delayed, destroyed, misdirected, garbled, or incomplete entries; (2) incorrect or inaccurate transcription of entry information; any human error, technical malfunctions, or lost/delayed data transmission; (3) any omission, interruption, deletion, defect, or line failures of any telephone network, computer equipment, network congestion, or software; (4) inability to access any website or online service, or (5) any other error or malfunction. Once submitted, entries become the exclusive property of Co-Sponsors and will not be returned. Entrants agree to be bound by these Official Rules and by the decisions of the judges, which are final and binding in all respects.
