The NEWSROOM

The sound of dribbling brought a lot of smiles to Charleston residents all thanks to the Sprite Spark Parks program. Red Moon spent the morning in the low country promoting a program that definitely has the potential to make a slam dunk in the area.  The program, sponsored by Coca-Cola Bottling Company Consolidated (CCBCC), Piggly Wiggly Carolina Company and the City of Charleston Department of Recreation, offers the public an opportunity to cast their vote for a basketball court make-over in the Charleston area.  The park that receives the most votes will win a $15,000 grant to help with the refurbishment.  Red Moon assisted CCBCC with the Public Relations for the project as well as planning, implementing and executing the ‘tip-off’ event in Charleston.  Jimmy Harte, Vice President at Red Moon, and his team were present at the event.

“The tip-off event was a huge success. It was fantastic to be a part of a wonderful public-private partnership that can have such a lasting effect on a local community.  And to see so many city and state leaders, College of Charleston basketball coaches and Charleston area residents embrace the initiative was incredible.  We are so very appreciative that Coca-Cola Bottling Company Consolidated allowed us the occasion to play a role in this exciting opportunity.  And to have held the ‘tip off’ at one of the 3 parks that has the chance to win the $15,000 grant really made our experience that much more impactful,” Harte said.
